NAPA were MenOnTheCouch , which in turn are Guilherme, João, Francisco and Diogo. Only the name has changed, because the essence and desire to create new music remains intact.

A basement on Madeira Island was the starting point for 4 friends to strengthen their relationship through music. The contours of the band were formed between the energy of Arctic Monkeys and Red Hot Chilli Peppers «, the purity of the Beatles and the sensitivity of Caetano Veloso and Tom Jobim.

In 2019 they recorded their first album 'Senso Comum' at the well-known Black Sheep Studios, in Sintra. The record's contagious melodies and raw, melancholy spirit gradually resonated in the hearts of passionate Portuguese. The sold-out performance at Sabotage and the subsequent concerts only reinforced the strength of the songs.

The band is getting ready to release their second LP, with a more mature look, but still a young spirit. The new album challenges the premises established in 'Senso Comum', bringing to the table greater complexity and inventiveness in the structure of many of the songs. The romantic pop vein continues to pulsate in the body of all songs, but the hunger to discover new musical rhythms and textures is evident throughout the album.

Men On The Couch are now NAPA. The name change is based on consistency and aesthetic coherence. The songs sung in English are already part of the band's very distant past and the change to a name in Portuguese puts an end to that phase.

NAPA now asserts itself as a 100% Portuguese band sung in Portuguese.
